Hello everyone
Welcome to my blog site. I hope you enjoy reading them. I am not a very look insight person, never even wrote a blog before. I hope from each other we can learn and grow. Life takes unexpected surprises in our life. I only started school because I lost my job, which is probably the best thing that has ever happened to me. I like to keep myself busy with school, work, and kids. Things like sleep and relaxing does not exist in my world. I would not change it for the world though. My kids deserve the best, and hopefully after I get done with school, we can have a better life then we have now.
When I did the relaxation exercise. I had it playing while I laid in bed with candles going. When I do relaxation things I try to take it all in. Its not easy for me to relax my mind, I can relax my body, but it feels like my mind is always going. I kept trying to relax, and not think about what I should be doing instead of just laying there. I know that for a healthier me I need to learn to relax my mind.

It is hard to shut off your mind during these exercises. I struggled with that as well. One technique that I learned was to focus on your breathing. I had always thought that meant to control your breathing and take long deep breaths, but this really means that you become aware of your natural breathing. Trying to control it will only get your mind active and not allow it to focus. By focusing on your natural breathing you learn to let your body take over and allow your mind to take a break from deciding what it needs to do (if that makes any sense). A professor from another class explained it to me and it helped a lot in helping me shut my mind off during times of relaxation. It made a big difference because when I did the exercise this week it seemed almost natural and I was able to enter my relaxed state very soon after starting the exercise. I hope your schooling goes well and you are able to make the changes for you and your family that you are trying for. I look forward to future blogs. Good luck!
